Senior Software Developer (Embedded Systems)
My client is one of Europe's fastest growing, most successful and most innovative consumer electronics companies. To facilitate growth are now seeking to recruit an: Senior Software Developer (Embedded Systems).
Tasks & Responsibilities
As an Embedded Java Developer you will be working in the business unit Mobile designing and implementing mobile, embedded software components to support the business roadmap. Your role will be a strategic role in which you will collaborate with other engineers in the product management, user interface design, program management and quality assurance areas.

You responsibilities will include:
- Designing, implementing, testing, integrating and maintaining softwaresystems and components, creating high quality, innovative products for mobile handsets

- Promoting quality, innovation, productiveness, and efficiency in all areas of work

- Producing high quality, efficient and maintainable code, on time, whilst meeting the business requirements

- Increasing influence and involvement in matters of architecture, design and implementation of mobile embedded software

- Enforcing the current software development practices, processes and standards, including code and design reviews, advising and mentoring

- Taking architectural responsibility, assisting in the overall design of internal and external systems
Profile of the suitable candidate
We are looking for a team player with:

- Minimum 5 years experience of software development and engineering within a commercial environment (preferably > 8 years).

- Extensive and proven industry experience in mobile, embedded software development (Java ME on different platforms, Android, Symbian, Windows CE)

- Experience in various techniques of automated software tests, such as acceptance-, load- and stress-testing

- Experience with any of the following a definite benefit:
. Telecommunication (GSM/GPRS/EDGE/3G networks)
. Audio (text to speech, speech recognition)
. Remote communication protocols, TCP/IP, HTTP
. GPS or related location technologies
. Geographical information systems, mapping or spatial applications

- Experience in agile software methodologies and practices, such as Scrum and Test-Driven Development

- Strong sense of quality and end customer experience

- Degree or equivalent qualification

- Open, creative and dynamic personality

- Hands on mindset, passion for mobile devices and mobile technologies in general

- Good communication skills, and solid in English, written and verbally
