Team Lead Embedded Software - Mobile - Java ME
My client is one of Europe's fastest growing, most successful and most innovative consumer electronics companies. To facilitate growth are now seeking to recruit an: Team Lead Embedded Software.
Tasks & Responsibilities
As Team Lead Embedded Software you will lead and grow a team of embedded software engineers, designing and implementing embedded software to execute the business roadmap for our Mobile Business Unit.
Among your core responsibilities you will:
 Build and lead an effective team of experienced software development engineers capable of supporting the business requirements and overall roadmap of the business
 Work closely with adjacent departments, providing necessary input on progress and estimation
 Assist line management in implementation of strategic goals within the business unit, designing a team for growth and success
 Form strong cross-functional relationships, facilitating efficient and effective software development with strong focus on quality and delivery
 Provide technical leadership, acting as a consultant within the team on technology, architecture, software development and overall product creation process
 Maintain and revisit the software development process, leveraging key performance metrics to continuously improve agility and performance of the team
We are looking for a dynamic candidate with:
 Minimum 5 years experience of software development and engineering within a commercial environment (preferably > 8 years)
 Extensive and proven industry experience in mobile, embedded software development (Java ME on different platforms, Android, Symbian, Windows CE)
 Proven track record in managing and growing a team of highly motivated and productive software development engineers
 Strong leader and communicator, able to motivate and steer a team of experienced software engineers
 Ability to manage agile software methodologies and practices
 Highly motivated, self-employed individual with a strong sense of ownership, delivery and motivation
 Open, creative and dynamic personality
 Hands on mindset, passion for mobile devices and mobile technologies in general
 Good communication skills, excellent in English, written and verbally
 Experience with any of the following a definite benefit:
- Telecommunication (GSM/GPRS/EDGE/3G networks)
- Audio (text to speech, speech recognition)
- Remote communication protocols, TCP/IP, HTTP
- Java server technologies, Spring, Java EE, XML and related technologies
- GPS or related location technologies
- Geographical information systems, mapping or spatial applications
- Degree or equivalent qualification
